"Lace Up, Set the Pace, and Embrace the Race!"
The dawn of 1 September 2024 resonated with the loud cheers of the participants of MGD RUN, EDITION 2.0, RUN FOR GREEN FUTURE.
The school campus came to light and laughter as early as 5 am with the determination and fervour of nearly 2000 participants which included the students, parents, alumnae, guild and staff members.
Ms Shatabti Avasthi, First Asian and world Para Athelete from Rajasthan and a Social Activist graced the event as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Ms Nupur Janu, a famous marathon runner, Dr. Sadhna Arya, consultant in Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Director of the Jaipur Runners Club, Kunwar K N Singh, the Founder
and Director of the Mountaineering & Adventure Institute ofRajasthan and Ms Shivangi Sarda, an entrepreneur and fitness coach and alumna of MGD Girls' School.
After a formal welcome of the chief Guest and all Guests of Honour, Ms Avasthi addressed the gathering. She expressed her delight on being a part of an energetic event of such a prestigious institution like MGD Girls' School. She motivated the students to keep pursuing their goal till to the best of their strength and ability and to not be demotivated by failures. She also advised the teenagers to be vocal and expressive about their problems to their elders in order to find the right solution.
Mrs Archana S Mankotia cheered up the runners in her address and pumped up their excitement through a loud cheer and applause for MGD.
The much awaited marathon kick started with the 8 km run flagged off by the Principal, followed by the 4 km and 2 km respectively. The route planned for the run was from MGD to the statue circle and back to the school.
The event ended with a melodious performance by the MGD band and the declaration of results of the prize winners.
Highlights of the event
* Special emphasis on CLEAN AND GREEN FUTURE.
* A team of student volunteers were on the mission to keep the campus clean and tidy by picking up the litter and garbage.
* Classes with maximum participation were acknowledged - Class 6, class 4, class 5 and at the top was class 3.
* Sections with maximum participation- class 3B 2C, 1A.
