Jesse Jackson once said “Deliberation and debate is the way you stir the soul of our democracy.” On 27th and 28th July 2024 , Maharaja Sawai Man Singh Vidyalaya organised the 2nd edition of Youth Parliament in which 130 students from 41 schools all over India participated. 3 students from Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls' School—Vedika Ved Prakash Parashar ( XI-F ), Ayati Poonia ( XI-F ), and Diya Shekhawat ( X-E )—took part in the competition, showcasing their talents and representing their school with enthusiasm and dedication. The first session of Youth Parliament was held in the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha where Mr. Tika Ram Juli, Mr. Sandeep Sharma and Mr. Vasudev Devnani enlightened the students with their inspiring words. Vedika Ved Prakash Parashar of class 11-F took on the role of Sports Minister and responded to questions during the question hour. The Youth Parliament comprised of six distinct sessions, each meticulously organized to facilitate parliamentary proceedings. The students of MGD presented their thoughts on the motions related to paper leak and defection law of legislators for 3 minutes each. Participation in the Youth Parliament debate has enhanced the participants' public speaking, critical thinking, and research skills, resulting in significant personal and academic growth.
