Internship at TAABAR NGO
A group of 14 Students from Class XII enrolled for a month long internship program at TAABAR NGO with the
prime motive of empowering the underprivileged children to take decisions and to speak for their rights, also to gain a first hand insight into the real life situations of exploitation.
On 20th and 21st July students of MGD were briefed about the purpose of starting TAABAR and how this Organization rescues children with the help of the local police and government departments, the basic precautions taken by the team to protect the children from further exploitation.
Our students engaged the children in some hands on activities which included reading, colouring, dancing etc. Towards the end students of MGD and the children from TAABAR performed a cultural programme.
The key takeaway for our students was the
understanding that life is not the same for everyone and that we should be grateful for what we have.
This interactive session with the children at the NGO was a life time experience for them.
The initiative was well appreciated by the members of the Board of Governors.
