Ms Cherry Goyal, Cambridge in-charge and Cultural Coordinator, had the privilege of attending the first ever Cambridge Schools Conclave, South Asia held at Novotel Dona Sylvia in Goa on 15-16 February.
One of the key takeaways from the conclave was the importance of fostering a holistic approach to education, one that goes beyond academics to encompass social-emotional learning, creativity, and critical thinking skills. This academic conclave facilitated networking, allowed all attendees to forge collaborations, exchange ideas, and establish professional relationships that will lead to future research collaborations, joint projects, or mentorship opportunities.
The Conclave featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and workshops led by UK based thought leaders at Cambridge International. The sessions offered valuable insights, cutting-edge research, and practical knowledge relevant to the field. Rod Smith, the Group Managing Director from Cambridge University Press and Assessment spoke about the Future Developments in International Education with Cambridge, highlighting the fact that Education through Cambridge leads to a purposeful and fulfilling life. Another important session was led by Claire Varlet-Baker, Director, Products and Services, Cambridge University Press and Assessment, who talked about Empowering Future through Innovative Education and outlined upcoming innovations from Cambridge International like the Cambridge Climate Quest, inspired by the National Curriculum Framework for School Education’s mandate to make the youth climate aware and to facilitate climate action at the grassroots level. It envisions climate education as an interdisciplinary pursuit, mapping the conversation about climate to various learning domains.
