Another interactive session for Cambridge board training was held at MGD Girls’ School on Saturday, 2nd December, 2023. The Resource Person for the session was Ms Tanya Valecha, an accomplished Group Principal at Rustomjee Cambridge International School and Junior College, Mumbai. Tanya brings extensive education expertise in leading a diverse team of 400 teachers and guiding 4500 students across various branches. Acknowledged as one of the country's top 100 influential Principals, Tanya holds the esteemed Global Teacher Accreditation by the British Council.
The session was informative and guided all the attendees further about Cambridge Philosophy and Methodology. Tanya demonstrated collaborative activities like Plus-Minus-Interesting, Diamond ranking, Reflective video watching, Silent debate, group discussions, 3-2-1, Song Activity, etc. to foster Active Learning in classrooms.
These activities showed how experiential and active learning can be effectively used in the classroom. Tanya also spoke about the Cambridge Pathway and how it aims to make learners reflective, innovative, confident, engaged and responsible.
The teachers navigated the Cambridge support site, explored vocabulary used in Cambridge resources once again and revisited the tenets of an effective lesson which includes, setting of clear objectives, an active learning approach and strategies for including Assessment FOR Learning and Differentiation.
The session ended by a vote of thanks by the MGD Cambridge in-charge, Ms Cherry Goyal and presentation of token of appreciation by the Vice-Principal, Ms Pramendra Khangarot.
The teachers expressed their gratitude to Madam Principal and the School for organising yet another insightful session.
