Republic Day and Basant Panchami Celebration

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake. -Rabindranath Tagore With freedom in mind and faith in our hearts, MGD Girls' School, Jaipur commemorated the 74th Republic Day on the morning of 26th January with great zeal and eclat. Principal Mrs. Archana S Mankotia unfurled the tricolor with great pride which was followed by the National Anthem performed by the MGD band. The head girl and the students pledged to uphold the honour and serve the nation selflessly. The patriotic songs performed by the music department reverberated with enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The momentous occasion also coincided with the festival of Basant Panchami, which was celebrated yet again with verve and gusto. The students offered prayers and invoked the blessings of Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of knowledge, music and art. Students were felicitated with the following awards: The Sona Dandia Memorial prize for best dancer in Bharatnatyam presented by Smt and Shri Tej Karan Dandia was awarded to- - Navya Narayan in the Senior category - Charvi Jain in the Junior Category - Nandika Dube in the Prep category. The award for best dancer in Kathak was presented to- - Shambhavi Verma in the Senior category - Tanvi Sharma in the Junior category - Ritvi Mishra in the Prep category The Alka Memorial prize for best singer presented by Smt and Shri Kamla Kant Meharshi was awarded to- - Aditi Pareek in the Senior category - Isha Joshi of class in the Junior category -Diya Maheshwari of class in the Prep category The award for the best student in instrumental music was presented to: -Aditi Upadhayay in the Senior category -Anushka Sharma in the Junior category -Laranya Singh in the Prep category. The day thus concluded on a zealous note.
