MGD Girls’ School, Jaipur, under the direction of its visionary Principal, Mrs Archana S Mankotia, initiated the Design Thinking Course for students of classes VI, VII and VIII. The first session under this was conducted on 9th April, 2022. The Design Thinking session for class VI was conducted by Mrs Anshu Jain; the trainer for class VII was Mrs Nidhi Sharma and for class VIII, Mrs Dipti Mahajan conducted the session. The trainers introduced the young minds to the potential of thinking out-of-the box and how to use it to unlock the creative side of every problem. The session was interactive and the students had lot of fun and came up with unique solutions to the problems presented to them. Students were able to identify the elements of a good design with the help of images and videos. They also understood the importance of empathy and fun in a design while going through the 5 steps involved in design thinking. The overall feedback was very encouraging and the students immersed themselves completely in the session.
