Personality Development Module Session-4 Building Self-Esteem Date-11th December 2021 MGD Girls’ School, Jaipur, in continuation to its extraordinary feat under the vision of its Principal, Mrs Archana S Mankotia, initiated Personality Development and Confidence Building Sessions for its students from classes III to VIII; IX and XI. The fourth session under this series was conducted on 11th December 2021 by Ms Cherry Goyal, Cultural Coordinator of the school, ELT Expert and Teacher Trainer. The title of the session was “Building Self-Esteem”. The session was planned and executed following all COVID-19 protocol. The session started with a Story Telling activity that included introducing the concept of Self-Esteem, Difference between Pride and Self-Esteem. Next, an activity sheet on “Something About Me” was given and the students were asked to fill the prompts like- My friends think I’m awesome because….; I feel happy when….; this activity catered to developing effective critical thinking and expression. Next, a discussion on varied topics was taken up. The students talked about things like Benefits of Same Sex Schools, Gender Equality, Importance of Skill-Based Education, etc. Principal, Mrs Archana S Mankotia also shared her perspective and helped students understand the theme further with some real life examples. An activity on Creating a Self-Esteem Journal was taken up and the students were asked to fill the given sheet on a daily basis to assess themselves better. Overall, the session was very productive and effective and all the students went back more confident and high-spirited, thanking the Principal, School and Ms Cherry.
