Personality Development Module Session-2

Personality Development Module Session-2 Communication and Collaboration Date-4th December 2021 MGD Girls’ School, Jaipur, in continuation to its extraordinary feat under the vision of its Principal, Mrs Archana S Mankotia, initiated Personality Development and Confidence Building Sessions for its students from classes III to VIII; IX and XI. The second session under this series was conducted on 4th December 2021 by Ms Cherry Goyal, Cultural Coordinator of the school, ELT Expert and Teacher Trainer. The title of the session was “Communication and Collaboration”. The session was planned and executed following all COVID-19 protocol. The session started with a Name Your Self Backwards activity that included introducing oneself with the name told backwards and the trainer guessing the real name. The students participated very heartily and introduced themselves as “????? for Bhavna, ???? for Siddhi”, etc. Next an activity that catered to developing effective communication, critical thinking and expression was undertaken, for which the trainer gave clues to all students, who further associated two words with their clues and spoke about why they chose those words. A discussion on understanding what effective communication is was taken up. The students talked about things that they felt before they started communicating, barriers to communication, like being misunderstood. The Principal, Mrs Archana S Mankotia also shared her perspective and helped students understand the theme further with some real life examples. This was followed by videos on Effective Communication and the Need for It in the Real World. Next, a discussion on the chosen theme was taken up to give the students a chance of self-expression and shedding inhibitions. The finale included a video showcasing the need and importance of team work and supporting others. Overall, the session was very fruitful and efficacious and all the students went back more confident and high-spirited, thanking the Principal, School and Ms Cherry.
